First Day of NYU classes

let me take a moment to share what i have discovered today:
Pauline sent me the link to the first item and i've been listening to it at work. at some point they played "o magnum mysterium" which i remember was one of my favorite pieces from singing in my HS chorus so i went searching for its lyrics and came upon the second item! awesome discoveries for today...

i spent much to today running back and forth between bobst and courant for work. ate a 6" subway sub somewhere in between (mmmm yumminess). with an hour before my first math class, i tried to start the reading, but only got through 10/34 pages.

soooooooo class! intro to analysis with frank hoppensteadt on wednesdays from 5:10-7pm with a (mandatory) problem session from 7:15-8:15pm. i was surprised by how many students were in the class and it was mostly a male population. aaron was there; he's the other dual degree student doing math. the prof jumped right in and immediately bombarded us with information. luckily i had just read most of the material in the textbook before class. however, he's insisting on using the latest edition of the book, which just came out in august, so the library doesn't even own a copy yet. i borrowed the 3rd edition for 24 hours. i asked him after class if he would put a copy on reserve in courant, but he flat out said no and told me i'm going to have to make friends. harsh. now i have to figure out a way to get access to the book without buying it... it's $128!! i already don't want to buy the cataloging book which is $50. can't wait to see if i need to buy a text for linear algebra on mondays too....
