indeed... it's been a while since i've posted. i've been obsessively working on my resume and CV for a few days -- still not completely satisfied with it, but it's at a point where i feel comfortable enough to stop editing (for the time being). i've also constructed a quick webpage about myself on the nyu homepages webhost. on it, i've tried my best to figure out a game plan for the next two years of grad school. it looks good on paper, but who knows, i might end up revamping the whole thing in a few weeks. in fact, i know i'm going to be changing things around -- just not right now.
i had dinner with liz on thursday. it was nice seeing her again since the last time i saw her in may. she gave me two tickets to see "Fruit Fly" on sunday as part of the asian american international film festival. there's a gala afterwards; i wonder if i need to dress up...
nyu master's college had an orientation today for new students. there are a lot of people studying computer science and journalism. i think i only heard 3 other people say they are studying math (not math in finance -- there are a few of those too) and i was the only one doing the dual degree program. on top of that, i made a new friend =) ironically, she's also an english major. (maybe i just attract them, lol, or rather i'm (platonically) attracted to them). i learned there are two gyms i have access to during the semesters that i'm registered for nyu courses. check out this brochure for this past year -- they have belly dance classes!! $65. i think i'm going to do it anyway; i really miss the dance after i took it my junior year in college (donna mejia is awesome by the way). the new brochure comes out at the end of august.
i went to see my baby cousin (the oldest of 3) in the hospital earlier. mom and i got there just as she had gone in for a CT scan. her aunt and uncle with her 3 cousins (on her mom's side) also came to see her. she's been running a high fever and was hospitalized on wednesday. her fever had gone down when we finally saw her, but by the time we left, her fever was back. i think they're keeping her overnight again. her mom hasn't left her side and looked so frazzled. funny story: her sister (the middle child) took advantage of her sister's situation and claimed she had a tummy ache while she was in summer school, scared the shit out of her parents (who are already operating on lack of sleep). her dad (my uncle) picked her up at school, brought her home and wanted to take her to see a doctor, but the girl was absolutely fine. she just didn't want to be in school!
alright so handball tomorrow morning and then a lunch of buns and rice balls. dinner with jason and his friends to celebrate his birthday. this should be interesting x)
