other parts of my day

i went into work this morning since i moved my hours from yesterday onto today. first thing i did was search for a book pauline wanted. i checked the regular shelved, the oversize, the reshelving room -- nothing. so when i got off work, i tried to put a search slip in. the circ people are really stressed out. the system just went live this morning and people have a lot of issues with their account. anyway, so when she searched for the book, the system says it's checked out! so i had her put it on recall for me.

i spent half my lunch talking with mike and cris about the status of the system over at courant. it turns out the system decided to blast everyone with overdue notices before they even updated the transactions.

the other half of lunch was spent actually eating my sandwich and talking to allan over rae's aim. lol. rae and sherry went to ask the complex prof some questions so i was left to entertain allan. it was funny cuz kellen and our analysis grader were working on another research project at the next table and i didn't want to interrupt. so when emily asked about the analysis exam last night, i mentioned how i have kellen to thank for that (loud enough for him to hear). he turned red, which i thought was really cute. and then we started talking about grades being posted on blackboard. apparently neither of them has ever seen what a student sees. so i showed them what it looks like.

then i met meg for virtual reference -- see post below. after that i went back to the 13th fl lounge and worked on the crossword and emily printed out a 9x9 kenken for me and allan. i finished it in less than an hour. since everyone else was working on complex (rae, sherry, jinyoung, john), i left early and went to the computer lab. surprise surprise -- arjun was there. i didnt even notice him till he stood infront of my computer and waved at me. it's been a while since i had seen him. and i had just responded to his fb message about my lack of stalking him. lol. (i wasn't stalking him!)

6:30 i met liz at the starbucks across from bobst. (who knew "on the square" is actually a starbucks??) and we went to grab thai food from this place near the west 4th station. food was really good. we caught up on things that have happened since we last saw each other like 2 months ago. she bought me a present from greece! a giant t-shirt!

then i had to run back to courant library. i'm subbing for alex tonight so i'm closing. i dont know where allan is, but he asked if i wanted to go to best buy after... hmm... i'll know in like 20 min. this post took me a long time to write, lol.
